Dear hedgehog friends all over the world. The hedgehog-station in Heinsberg Germany likes to welcome you. For now, we have been taking care of hedgehogs. Little babies left behind by their mothers, injured hedgehogs and sick ones. In the beginning we did not know anything about those little sweet creatures.

But little by little we have improved our knowledge: Internet reserch, reading and then by our own experience.

The station had to be organized witout any financial help from official site. Later we have organized our hedgehog friends and estalished the »club of hedgehog friends Heinsberg«.

Actions to take

If you find a hepless or insured adult hedgehog and you like to look after this animal, just provide him with cat-food (cans are available in any super market) and fresh water. Do not feet him with milk! Milk will cause diarrhoea.

If the hedgehog is injured, you might want to attand a veterinary. In some vet-practices this will be without any costs for you (please contact the vet to find out).

Hedgehog-baby helpline

We have established a hotline (mobile phone) to provide advice on frist aid if you found a helpless or sick hedgehog-baby. In case you are looking for information because you want to accommodate a hedgehog-baby with first help, call immidiately - at any time.

Especially if you found a helpless hedgehog-baby, we will interrupt our dayly work, since this has priority.
